Marina Police Department 2018 National Night Out
Marina Police Department’s 2018 presentation of National Night Out is free event..It will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Public Safety Building lower parking lot located at 208 Palm Avenue. One of the major focuses of this event is to showcase non-profit, service organizations and other organizations who provide constructive activities, services and education for our youth and families. The main focus of National Night Out is to promote healthy, positive safe activities and programs to divert youth from becoming caught up in unlawful lifestyles such as gangs and drugs. This year;s event will include various cultural performances, activities such as a pie eating and jalapeno eating contests, free raffle for children and youth. Opportunities to mix and mingle with Marina Police Officers and many other activities.
National Night Out is a community-police awareness-raising event held annually every first Tuesday of August. The event is meant to increase awareness about police programs and other programs in communities that promote healthy activities and lifestyles, drug prevention, Neighborhood Watch, and anti-crime efforts.
