Desserts in the Raw: Plant-Based Culinary Class Do you love dessert but want to maintain a healthy diet? Here is your chance to learn to make yummy, nourishing, raw foods plant-based desserts from scratch, then sample the desserts in community! Chef Beth Love, author of the cookbook series Tastes Like Love, will share her original recipes and preparation techniques in this hands-on workshop. in this shorter version of the classic Desserts in the Raw class, we will make three delightful guilt-free taste sensations: Strawberry Ice Cream Carob Mint Pie Aprilcot Pecan Chews (pictured) All are organic, gluten-free, fruit-sweetened, and actually nutritious! Here is what you will get: Practice with various techniques for raw dessert preparation Exposure to methods for replacing refined sugars and carbohydrates and cholesterol-laden, high fat foods with whole, healthy, natural alternatives Experience making a variety of delicious healthy treats Fun connection in community A tasting party in which we eat our fill of delightful desserts without hurting ourselves Recipes to be able to make the desserts again at your home Dessert styling and presentation ideas for making your healthy and delicious desserts gorgeous as well All ingredients and equipment provided. The Carob Mint Pie needs to be made in advance in order to firm up before eating. I will prepare a pie in advance of the class for us to enjoy in our tasting party. The pie we make in class will be available for one of the participants to take home in exchange for ingredient reimbursement. Children mature enough to participate in structured group activities are welcome and encouraged to attend (and those under 14 are free when accompanied by an adult). Invite your friends!
