We're excited to invite you to HGP's organic farm for a gourmet, 4-course dinner prepared by exceptional, local chefs featuring fresh food grown on our farm. Enjoy a farm tour, drinks - including special wine pairings - live music and engaging talks by speakers focusing on sustainability, including our fantastic speaker, acclaimed author Jonathan Franzen! Jonathan Franzen is a novelist, essayist, journalist, translator, and screenwriter. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts & Letters and the author of five novels, including The Corrections, Freedom, and Purity, and five volumes of nonfiction, most recently The End of the End of the Earth. He's also a serious bird-watcher and has received the EuroNatur Award for his work in conservation. He lives full time in Santa Cruz. ******************************************************************************************************** Our chefs for this Supper include Matthew Beaudin from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Tom McNary from Soif, Sarah LaCasse from Earthbound Farms and Yulanda Santos of Aubergine. Our menu is coming together!Appetizers by Chef Tom McNary:- Crostini with heirloom tomatoes & basil (vegan)- Padron peppers stuffed with corn and queso fresco (vegetarian/gluten free) - Curry chive cheese puffs with chicken salad - Crispy potato rounds with brandade and piquillo peppersSalad by Chef Sarah LaCasse: Sarah LaCasse is a chef, caterer and consultant with food companies and restaurants throughout the Monterey Peninsula and Bay area. She works with private clients cooking for intimate dinners, special events and large parties, as well as writing new menus and designing kitchens for soon-to-open restaurants and other food operations. She worked as executive chef for Earthbound Farm for 12 years creating new products, writing cookbooks and running the iconic Carmel Valley Organic Farm Stand. - Fresh and roasted tomato and strawberry salad with feta, cucumbers, and petite greens, topped with edible flowers and sourdough croutons.Main entree and vegan entree by Chef Matthew Beaudin and Chef Adam Young: - Monterey Bay Cioppino featuring Monterey Black Cod, Oregon Pink Shrimp, Mussels, Clams, HGP roasted Brandywine tomatoes in a rich saffron broth. Served with grill bread. Vegan option: - Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seasonal Vegetable Green Curry with tofu and farm vegetables, served over basmati rice. Dessert by Chef Yulanda Santos: Chef Yulanda Santos is currently Pastry Chef at Aubergine in Carmel, California. After several years in the banking industry, Yulanda Santos decided to follow her passion for baking. Chef Santos went to Tante Marie's Cooking School in San Francisco where she graduated from the baking and pastry program and she's never looked back. Her pastry knowledge expanded as she worked in many great kitchens and her passion for baking only grew stronger. - Zucchini cake with rose geranium and roasted strawberries topped with whipped passion fruit-white chocolate, candied basil & sunflower seed crumble. Frequently Asked Questions When does the Early Bird price end? A limited quantity of tickets are available at the Early Bird price of $125, which ends when the allotment of tickets sell out.
