Join cookbook author and Vietnamese food expert Andrea Nguyen to make outstanding pho soup, stir-fried noodles, and street snacks to create an entire pho meal! Traditional and modern recipes will be explored so you can replicate these dishes at home. You'll experiment with condiments, herbs and other seasonings that shape the iconic foods of Vietnam. You'll learn to tame rice paper, too. Andrea will guide you through recipes and techniques, and discuss key ingredients such as fish sauce (we'll taste different brands), herbs, and spices, including how to locally source them. She'll also share culinary history and regional differences from her 2017 James Beard Award-winner,The Pho Cookbook. Bring your copy or purchase them at the class for her to sign. This is a 4.5-hour, hands-on class from 11am to 3:30pmso be prepared to cook, tinker, and have fun. There will be lots of eating too. The menu of dishes (most of which is gluten-free) includes: - Beef Pho - Chicken Pho - Seafood Pho - Sate Chicken and Pho Noodles - Beef Pho Banh Mi - Classic Rice Paper Salad Rolls - Peanut Hoisin Sauce - Lemongrass Sate Sauce - Coconut Coffee Adult and teen cooks are welcomed at this class.
