Monkeyflower Ranch Farm Dinner July 28th
Enjoy a summer evening on the farm at Monkeyflower Ranch. We invite you and your family to come out for a tour of our sheep dairy farm and cheesemaking facility and then to enjoy a farm dinner on our garden patio. Farmer, cheesemaker and chef Rebecca King will be preparing a 3 course meal served family style. The dinner will feature our Garden Variety Cheese sheep cheeses and products; pork, lamb and eggs from our farm; and organic produce from nearby farms. Wine and Beer will be available for sale by the glass or BYOB ($10 corkage fee). Garden Variety Cheese is a small farmstead cheese business based in Northern Monterey County on 40 acre Monkeyflower Ranch. To ensure the health and well-being of the animals and the high quality of the milk and cheese from Garden Variety Cheese, the 100 milking ewes here at Monkeyflower Ranch are fed on fresh pasture, alfalfa hay and organic brewers grain from Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing and organic corn from Modesto Milling. Each ewe is named after a garden flower and treated with love and respect. We also raise Gloucester Old Spot pigs on the whey from the dairy, spent grain and organic produce from local farms as well as a flock of heritage breed laying hens.
