2018 USC Marshall Family Day- "The Business of Theme Parks"
We are excited to announce our first ever Family Day at Gilroy Gardens for the "Business of Theme Parks" on Saturday, July 14th. Come join the Bay Area Marshall Alumni and the rest of the Trojan family to learn how the Bay Area's much beloved family theme park operates first hand and enjoy a lovely lunch in the private reserved grove picnic area. This event is open to everyone including including all of the Marshall Alumni, Trojan Family, and friends. Casual Theme Park Dress Attire although Trojan gear is strongly recommended. Children under 3 are free. Your family will have a unique opportunity for a docent led personalized walking tour of the gardens and featuring lunch keynote speaker Barb Granter, Vice President and General Manager of Gilroy Gardens . Barb is a 33+ year veteran of the theme park industry and has manage Gilroy Gardens for over the past 15+ years. Her prior experience includes being the Vice President and General Manager at Paramount Parks including the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel and the CBS Television City research facility at the MGM Grand. Event Agenda: 10:00am- Registration & Park Opens 11:00am- Docent Led Guided Garden Tours @ Welcome Center 12:00pm- Buffet Lunch and Keynote Speech from Barb Granter @ Private Grove Picnic Area. 6:00pm- Park closes As part of the admission, guests can enjoy all the rides and amenities including the newly completed Water Oasis 2.0- BIGGER SPLASHES, BIGGER SLIDES, and BIGGER FUN for BIGGER KIDS. The land and assets are owned by the City of Gilroy and the business is leased to a local volunteer Board of Directors who hired Cedar Fair to operate the property. The park was designed and created by the Bonfante family after selling their Nob Hill supermarkets.and features beautiful gardens, waterfalls, over 10,000 trees, topiaries, and rides and attractions geared to children 8 and under.
